Update

I slept over by Fran Sat. nite and went to the cemetary on Sun. morn.
Tom. I have to go to NIH in the morn. for a few hours for consults w/anesthesia and nephrology. On Wed. I have to check in @ 8am for a day of surgical prep. The surgery is scheduled for 7am on Thurs. morn. By the time Louis arrives @NIH, the surgery might be over already.
I can hardly wait to hear the recording of the song.
We will be in touch. Love you all!!!!

We're recording Aunt Dory's Bar Mitzvah Song now. Got the vocal, drum, piano,bass guitar,accoustic guitar done. Now we're adding harmonica.

A good sign

I was setting the table for shabbos and pulled a bentcher from my bentcher basket. I somehow end up using the same few all the time but this time my hand pulled out a bentcher from Duvy Bodner's daughter's wedding. I didn't even know it was in there. that's when my eyes teared up because I felt it was a sign that all will be alright. It was a way to honor and give thanks to Duvy for helping Joseph. I called Duvy after Shabbos to tell him this story.

By the way I am feeling better. A gut voch.

Sick Days

Hi everyone,

I have been home sick with fever for the past 2 days. I came home from work tuesday evening and took a nap . I decided to take my temperature and was surprised to find out it was 100. I didn't feel any better the next day and made a doctos appt. I am now taking zithromax for 3 days for a sinus infection. Could explain the sinus headaches while I was at Suri. I was also exposed to cold damp conditons at work on Monday as they were plastering the ceiling. I still had fever today so I am staying home. The doctor also gave me a prescription for allegra to help clear the sinus'.

Salute to Israel parade

I went to the parade today and bumped into many people. Lillian and Abe Kaufman going and coming. She said Estee Pincahsin is home from Iraq and will be moving somewhere in Kansas for a year. I bumped into Bruce Neufield when I went to get my cheeek swabbed to be bone marrow donor. I bumped inot Frieda Bart on the subway station (MomMom's friend). I also saw Kaylee Epstein so now I have Jan's number. Plus many more people I know.
I picked up Carol at the airport first and we went to the parade She came in for a Bar Mitzvah. The weather was over cast but didn't rain so that was good.

UPDATE

The old adage of "who you know" works again. B"H, through my friends the Kohns, who are neighbors w/ Faige (Bodner) Steinberg, Duvie Bodner got me in w/ the Skvere Rebbe on Tuesday. Not just in, I got the Rebbe's gabai phone # who will let me got straight in when I get there.
I also spoke to ECHO who said go partial.

About coming to visit/ help, I'm assuming that Lisa will be the one to talk to.

After talking to the surgeon within the last hour, we felt that it would be better that we have the surgery on Thursday, June 3rd. The only decision left is what I want taken out.
Louis: How was your trip back? Also, is it possible you could contact Reb Efrayim and see if he has an in w/ Rav Elyashiv or other Gedolim. Simmy Pollack has water that was blessed by Abuchatzareh. I will drinking some of that before the surgery.

MY SITUATION

It was nice talking to you after Yom Tov and updating you on my condition. As details become clearer I will keep everyone informed. Thank you for all the support and willingness to do whatever is needed. I means a lot to me, Lisa and the kids. I told Meir that if Louis comes, he'll live @ Starbucks. I di not tell Aunt Helen and I feel that I should push it off until I really can't. Let me know what you think. Be'Ezras Hashem, I will be alright and that we will share many simchas together for many many years to come.
Mazel Tov Yaakov and Mindy. The name is beautiful. I hope to somehow see you at sometime.

what a day!!

I got to work early so I could work on a powerpoint I am doing for my boss presentation. She was coming between 9 and 9:30. When I got to work the outer office door was locked and Idon't have the key. I waited for my asst who went to get the key from the asst. cook. We open the door and the floor had about 2 inches of water. there was a leak from the ceiling (ongoing problem) and this time even extended into my office. Got the mops called the Sr. Center Director, housing office. My boss came and fortunately we were able to work on the project. My clients with called with "major problems" I got a new referral from an anxious daughter, ran a meeting with the clients and now they shut the water and.....
I have a shul dinner committe meeting at my place tonight and still am not sure if I am driving to Suri or getting a ride (my decision). So how are all of your days going?

We are back from the hospital and staying at Mindy's parents. The baby seems to like car rides.
In other news, the Shalom Zachor was really nice. One of my friends stayed in the neighborhood, and two others walked in from the yeshiva, which is pretty far, so I appreciated it a lot. My boss came too. This one guy from my shul made the whole thing really leibedic; I was afraid the neighbors would get upset!

I was able to go to shalom zachor friday night. My friends, the Mittleman's had a grand son on Tuesday night. Unfortunately I will be missing both bris'. But I did have arbis and will go to the bagel store Tuesday morning to get a bagel and cream cheese. maybe I will splurge for some lox on it.

1) We really appreciate Uncle Nat making this supreme effort to come to the bris. Hope all the travel arrangements work out.

2) I'm looking into broadcasting the bris live online so you y'all can watch it. Mindy's uncle in Israel emailed me that he's gonna watch it via skype. I'm wondering if multiple people can tune in on the same skype thingy. If not there's a website called stickam, which our shul has used to broadcast shiurim live. I'm not sure if I have what we need to broadcast but I hope to find out.

Norma Rae update

I received a 2 page letter from someone at the MTA regarding my suggestion of combining 2 bus routes. A 2 page personalized letter stating why they can't do it etc. I wrote back today asking them to stand on the corner and see for themselves what the statistics don't state.

I'm finished!

Today was last final for graduate school. On Wednesday I will be receiving my Masters in Occupational Therapy ( although I won't be there to get it). Woohoo, I'm finished! Now I just need to get a job and pay back my student loans ( In 50 years I will post another "Wohoo, I'm finished!"- for that)

Exciting Events of the Day

I'm sorry that I have not posted anything until now. I'm sure everyone is starved for pictures and news. Anyway, as you can see, I fed the baby today. The nurse said he would only eat at most one ounce, but he took almost double that. Then I was trying to figure out how to burp him while he was wrapped in a two-inch thick cocoon of blankets. I have not changed his diaper yet; the nurses have been taking care of that so far. But I am sure I will have that zechus very soon.

Unfortunately, I had to go to work for most of the day but Mindy's family and friends came to keep her and the baby company. Everyone at work was very excited. One girl cried.

I came back to the hospital after work, which is where I am now. But I am going home in a few minutes to study for my Physics final which is tomorrow. Stay tuned for the next post tomorrow night.

What I did on My Birthday

I was on Main St and stopped at the fruit store picked up a bag of mixed color peppers from the out door stand and walked toward the avacados at the other side. I then noticed the florist next door was having a grand opening so I walked in to speak to them about making an appointment to discuss flowers for my shul dinner ( I am on the committee). I looked down and noticed I was holding the peppers said oops and turned around to go out when the fruit store owner walked in. How embarrassing but we realized it was an innocent mistake. I went back to the store a few minutes later to pay for them. You guys would have had to post bail for me on my birthday!!!!
