Monday Evening June 7th Update
Hi- I thought I should post an update. Lots of nice visitors on Sunday. Very much appreciated by Yossie & Lisa.
Today, we walked outside & Yossie practiced going up & down stairs. A minyan of Jewish employees showed up & made a minyan for mincha here in the room.
The doctor came by twice. Recovery is going well & the only reason that Yossie is still in the hospital is because he chooses to be here at this point & because he loves the hospital food.
The pathology reports won't be ready until the earliest next Tuesday, & if they are they have an appt to see the doctor next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, I used Yossie's afternoon nap time to go to the blood bank here & donate platelets. They are so much better here than they are in Memphis. (though the guy who took care of is originally from Memphis).

They Grow Up Fast
Akiva has managed to turn over from his stomach to his back. I have heard that babies are not supposed to do this until they are a few months old, but we saw him do it twice. We are very proud of his achievement.

Uncle Yossie Update-Thurs 830p Est
Hi,
I have virtually no cell phone service in the hospital. Earlier, in the waiting room for the surgery there was good internet service. Now in the ICU Family room there is not. Right now I'm in my room in the lodge & that has internet.
B"H the doctor said everything went very well. He was able to leave 30% of the kidney in & he was able to reconnect all the "plumbing". The surgery went as good as can be, B"H. The tumor seems to be malignant but he's very confident he got it all out.
In addition, he sent part of a nearby lymph node for a pathology as well, just to be sure. He was very comfortable with his decision to do the "partial".
Uncle Yossie is in ICU & is out like a light. We went in there for a few minutes but he has not yet come out of the anesthesia. We'll check back there soon.
Everyone here is extremely nice. I asked the off duty driver of a shuttle bus here where the lodge was, he got out of his bus just to point the way to me. When I first arrived, the lady behind the information counter got out from behind there just to point the way to me. I still got lost. Then when I was lost a doctor literally changed the direction she was walking in to walk me to the elevators. Turns out they were the wrong elevators but then another doctor walked me through a lab that I wasn't supposed to be in to walk me right where Lisa was waiting.
Keep davening. Update later.
