It has been 16 years since Lisa and I had our Aufruf in Monsey. That year, Asara B'Teves was on a Friday, so we all broke our fasts on Kiddush. The highlight of Friday night was Yaakov making Kiddush for the first time. So happy anniversary Yaakov.
I was actually just thinking about that when I made kiddush this past shabbos because my parents were here and it felt werd to be making kiddush in front of my father just like it did at the aufruf. Although I had no idea that it was so close to the same date. But why are you telling me happy anniversary? Happy anniversary to you!
I don't remember it was Asara b'tevet but I do remember Yaakov making a beautiful kiddush and Aunt Helen showing off her new mink coat.
