Message from the Mash
Dear Alumni and Friends,
Today, Thursday, the 11th day of MarCheshvan is the yartzheit of Rachel
Imeinu. During the churban of the Bais Hamikdash our people passed
Kever Rochel on their journey to exile, death and servitude. As she
does only too often, Rochel weeped for her children. As the prophet
Yirmeyahu told us, Hashem told Rochel to refrain from crying. Hashem
assured Rochel that there would be reward for her action and hope for
the future and that the children will return to their borders.
For certain we are today in Eretz Yisroel because of her tears. But
perhaps return to borders means more than just the Land. We live in a
world without g'vulim, without borders. Nothing is sacred and we are
exposed to everything. On this, her yartzheit let's try to return ourselves
to the borders that the Torah and the chachamim have given us for our
own benefit and welfare. Let's try to do something for integrity and for
modesty. Let's try to come home to our borders.
